new books!

I was finally able (and movtivated) to finish these two books I've been working on FOREVER.

I tried something new this time and rounded the corners of my bags. I guess it looks cute, but I don't think I'll do it again. It was an experiment! It wouldn't stay closed so I added red ribbons to the sides. I think it makes it look more Christmas-y, like a little present! I didn't use a traditional cardinal red/hunter green color scheme in this book. My inspiration for the whole thing was this one piece of paper from basic grey's dasher line. I love the olive green, pale blue and pinks-not your regular Christmas stuff! :)

The second book is a girly one-yay! For some reason I was imagining pictures of a girl who is in 2nd or 3rd grade going in it...I don't know any 2nd or 3rd graders so I'm not sure why! It's got three spots for journaling and little bits of sparkle here and there. Not too girly, just enough!

Cute Christmas Ideas

These hand towels are from shanalogic.com and they're super cute! They're also $18.50 each! WTF! I would never pay that much for a hand towel but if someone else wants to, more power to ya.

And for something completely different, this delicate and beautiful handmade wall hanging is from stink bone jones! Is that a fun shop name or what? It's a personalized gift-and they're only $10. She also does these gorgeous hand painted onesies...and they're for boys! I'm always excited to find something fun and handmade for little boys. It does not happen every day!

I LOVE this pillow! I'm way too old to be having stuff that says "Princess" laying around, but the colors & fabrics are just SO YUMMY!!!! It's by Molly McCormick and I want it.

This pretty jewelry organizer is from Urban Outfitters and it's only $20. I'm always detangling necklaces so I might have to add this one to my personal wish list. It's online only btw.

Okay I don't even play video games and this makes me want to start. It's a pink Wii! It's under $100 w/free shipping from light in the box. That site has some really great bargains!

new 12x12 layouts

I've actually been scrapping for myself the past couple days. I haven't done that in a loooong time; I'm usually either working on custom orders or stuff for my etsy shop. Now that I have a couple of layouts done I'm itching to print out more pics and keep going!

I'm so bad about updating this blog! But I have pictures to share so that's always a good thing. This is my latest custom album, Shae & Carson. I used almost all My Mind's Eye paper so the whole thing is textured and yummy. It's kind of a challenge to do a boy/girl book but I love it!

I just tried to add more pictures to this post but blogger is being weird and I have to get dinner going, so you can see ALL the pictures on my myspace, myspace.com/craftedbyjenn

bad blogger!

It's been way too long since I posted in this blog, but that's because I've been working! Working on books, that is....This weekend I FINALLY finished two books I have been working a very long time on!!! YYYAAAYYYY!!!!! I've been making books non-stop for weeks and weeks now...since July I think? I am going to put away all my scrap stuff, if I can cram it in my closet, and take a break for a few days. I need to let my creative juices simmer and marinate for awhile after all that scrapping. I will admit, I do have ideas for what I want to do next! I want to make a Grandma book and a Grandpa one too, also a boy Pirate one and one for a wedding. I feel like I need to make a turquoise and brown wedding book-not really sure why!

All the fall stuff is starting to appear in stores and I love it. We don't get much of a "fall" here in Phoenix. I've experienced the whole colors changing and all that, I did live in Michigan for 5 years...I'll still take my bright and sunny winters over the gross snowy ones in the midwest. I'll look at leaves changing on tv or something.

I watched two movies this weekend that were total eye candy. The first is The Darjeeling Limited. I love Wes Anderson but his movies don't always go down right the first time so I wasn't sure what to expect. I am pleased to report it was one of the better ones! Not as good as Rushmore but more entertaining than The Royal Tannenbaums. WAY better than The Life Aquatic. There was one part involving a little boy that made me have to turn it off...I can't watch anything about a little boy dying because I have a little boy who died. So the next day I fast forwarded past that part and finished it up.

The second eye candy movie was An Imitation of Life. It's an old one from 1959 starring Lana Turner. I have a thing for Lana Turner! I'm not sure about her character in the movie. It's kind of a weird story, about a woman who brings a black lady and her daughter home from the beach and ends up being best friends for the rest of their lives. What I love the most about it is the COSTUMES they wear. I wish I could wear one of those big puffy dresses like they did back then! It's also amusing to see how things were different back then. Such as business men having a full bar in their office or the fact that freaking EVERYONE smoked, all the time! One of the character ends up working in a nightclub singing, and her mother has a freak out over it. She has to wear an outfit that looks like a showgirl but it's not like she's stripping or anything. These days a mom would be like "That's my baby girl!"

This is a better explaination of the movie than what I could write....I agree that you should watch the movie with a box of chocolates! And lots of champagne!

stampers....

never cease to amaze me! I am not a stamper at all. I have a few regular old rubber ones and two that need to be mounted on wood-that's it. It seems like stampers make cards, and that's another thing I am not into---but love to look at. This card by Laurie is so summery and fun, even if it didn't say "Happy Thoughts" it would make me think happy thoughts!
