Hi there!

Welcome to my brand spankin' new blog! Here I'll be doing what zillions of other women can't help but doing: writing about my life, as plain and ho-hum as it may be. We all know the plain and boring days are usually the best and most cherished!

I am mama to a beautiful little boy named Riley who is 2 years old. Almost 3, his birthday is in march. I'm currently expecting our first (and probably only) little girl, who is named/will be named Kira! I'm 32 so no spring chicken here, I feel like I've been waiting a loooong time for this little girl. Okay maybe not that long, but I've been waiting :)

I've been a stay at home mom since having Riley in 2007. It's been such a fun and rewarding experience getting to watch him grow everyday. I don't know if I'll get the opportunity to be home as much after Kira arrives because I like to shop and having a little girl=lots of cute things to buy!

addicted? yeah that's me

About a week ago I started playing this fun little game on Facebook called Farm Town. You get a little plot of land, a little bit of money, and you grow "crops". You help your "neighbors" by watering and raking thier farms, and when the crops are ready you harvest for each other. Why is it so addicting? I'm not quite sure. I like seeing my little crops go from seeds to plants to full on fruits and vegetables. Yes, they're little graphics on my computer screen but it's still cute! Another huge chunk of the fun is the interaction with other farmers. If you're looking to be hired or hire someone, or just hang out you can go to the Inn, the Market or the Real Estate office. These are basically chat rooms filled with other farmers from around the world. When I get hired, I like to chat with the person who's farm I'm working on. It has been such an amazing experience getting to know so many different people from around the globe in such a short time. I've met girls in Greece, Australia, England, New Zealand...I've met guys too but this seems to be a more woman friendly game. I've noticed men will just go to work at the farm, say "thanks" and leave. I usually end up chit chatting long after the crops are harvested with the farm owner and 1 or 2 other ladies in the conversation.

If you're on Facebook and would like to get addicted yourself, I'd LOVE to have you as my neighbor! I love helping newbies...it makes me proud! Happy farming!

i made it!

This is the Lush I made for Mother's Day, and it was SOOOO GOOD! The berries were so good w/the filling...it wasn't too sweet...it was just perfect. I left most of it at my mom's house so I made another one later in the week. Fry's had sponge cakes on sale for $1.99 so I took it as a sign that I HAD to make it again. This time I used Lemon pudding instead of vanilla, and it gives it a little zing but it's not "lemony". Either way it is really YUMMY!!!

bad for squirrels, good for birds

I just ran across a little blurb for this stuff, Cole's Flaming Squirrel Sauce in Phoenix Home & Garden magazine. It's a sauce that contains hot stuff that mammals don't like but birds don't mind that you pour on birdseed so the little buggers can't come and steal all the sunflower seeds before the birds have a chance at it. The illustration on the bottle is what really gets me...how funny is that?!

I am SO making this for Mother's Day on Sunday! It looks so pretty and I've been on this big pineapple thing lately. I want to make Pineapple Upside Down Cake too. What do you like to make for Mother's Day?

go dolphins!

Did you guys see this the other day? It's thousands of dolphins giving some pirates a big "i don't think so" when they were trying to be all piratey to a Chinese ship. The pirates were no match for the dolphins jumping like crazy! And so many of them...what kind of dolphin communication system do they have going where they can gather this many at once and then go all ape *poopie* when they see the pirates trying to attack? These creatures are so amazing, I can't wait to see what they do next. I've heard of them helping people who are drowning, but this....is AMAZING!!!

uh...oh

Remember when I said this pic made me sad to think Holly, Bridget & Kendra weren't there? Well apparently they were! Who knows if they were actually at the event that photo was taken at, but they were in Las Vegas for his b-day snooze. I cannot BELIEVE they are going to try and do another season of the Girls Next Door with those new skanky twins!!! First of all the original three totally exhausted ALL the ideas for shows...they did EVERYTHING and more. The final season you could tell they were scraping the bottom of the barrel for ideas. So now they must think three new idiots doing the same crap will be entertaining? It may sound crazy/dumb but I have my loyalties...these three sluts are the Girls Next Door and that's all there is to it.

seriously?

According to this post on PerezHilton.com, Britney Spears stopped her show in Vancouver because there was too much pot smoke in the air. Is it legal to smoke at concerts in Vancouver? Even if it is, are there pot smoking Britney fans that can afford a concert ticket? It just sounds so weird to me. Later on "her people" put out a statement saying they were actually afraid the crew might get so high they would fall off the scaffolding. It was probably the crew smoking in the first place.

Britney, you're so freaking weird and it just never ends!!

Peep Show!!!!

I really just wanted to have a post called "peep show". For some reason I like the term peep show. It reminds me of that Madonna video for "Open Your Heart" when she had the short white blonde hair and a beauty mark and some kid copied the way she danced...now that I'm thinking about it was that supposed to be her son? Her little brother? Never really got that part. Anywhoo, on to THE PEEPS!!!!

This is s'mores in a jar done with peeps. I really want to try this one!!!

I know it's Easter and this is a Christmas scene. Use your imagination!

These are chocolate covered Peeps from Mr. Chocolate. I thought I had found the find of the year until I found these.......
Salted Caramel and Dark Chocolate Covered Peeps from Roopa's home kitchen! I can't WAIT to try these because chocolate/marshmallow/carmel is my favorite candy combination. I think.

Are you hungry for Peeps yet? Wanna see some more?

This lovely Sunflower Peep cake is by
Junk 2 Jewels. Her blog is chock full of lovely stuff!!

I do think that's enough Peeps for now. Happy peeping!!!

happy birthday sosy

Since I started working I have had very limited time to scrap. It kind of sucks! Here is a book I created for my first international custom order. It is on it's way to the far off land of Qtar!!! A very special little girl named Sosy turned 2 last week and this book will be filled with pictures from her party :)

happy birthday hef!

Hef went wild at his 83rd birthday party in Vegas over the weekend. Makes me sad to see him sitting there/passed out and knowing Holly, Bridget & Kendra aren't there to look out for him.

Enough with the late nights Hef! You had a great run, there's nothing wrong with settling down in your early 80's. Sheesh!

mmmmacaroons.....

image via flickr

I've never tasted one of these little beauties but I'm sure they're heaven. I guess I've heard of them, but no one around here makes them, and I know I've never actually seen any like these in person! They sound a little challenging to make, so for now I'm on a quest to find them here in Phoenix.

They are so much fun to just look at, aren't they?

these are from bake it pretty. *LOVE* that blue filling color with the pink cookie!!!

These are from Tartlette. Aren't they just so spring-y?

These ones are grapefruit, sounds yummy!! I also love that polka dot napkin! It's all by black apple.

Here's a big tree of them in Paris! image via flickr

marie antoinette

The colors of this book really remind me of Marie Antoinette. Each page is SO girly! I tried something new by putting a big flower on the cover. The covers are my LEAST favorite part of a book to do. For some reason I always feel totally stumped when it comes to the title and what the cover should look like...that's why they always turn out so similar I guess (the covers, not the insides)! So this one has a layered flower on the cover and a title on the first inside page. Different, and I like it :)

this one's for your grandma...

This book is inspired by my Grandma's house, which is a jumble of fabrics, textures, knick knacks, trinkets, stuffed animals (like deer heads AND teddy bears) and anything else you can dream up.

etsy LUV!!!

I've been on a little etsy buying spree lately...wanna see?

This adorable elephant button is from UK seller zozo cards. I like the idea of buying something that has to cross an ocean to get to me, even if it's just a little button!

Eiffel Tower charms from twisted string.

My most favorite thing ever is this layered deer thing from a scrappy design! The second I saw this I was going 'click, add to cart'. I am so excited to get this, frame it and put it in my scrap room! The colors, the little deer, the scalloped circle...it's like it was made for me :) She has a ton of cute stuff in her shop and her prices are totally affordable.

Hope you've had some fun etsy purchases lately too!!

i couldn't resist

Who could pass up this heart shaped donut? Not I! I don't know if they had these for Valentine's day but they would have been perfect. I am a sucker for a donut and a sucker for anything heart shaped, so this makes me very happy!

When you have a 2 year old little boy in the house, this is what happens. Stuff gets stuck where it fits, regardless of if it belongs there or not!
